Quiz/Test Correction Policy:
Any student can submit quiz/test corrections for half credit if they complete a corrections form (see document at the bottom of this page), including showing their work and EXPLAINING either why their original answer was wrong or why their new answer is correct. Attach this to the original and turn it into the tray.
Grading Policy:
The school-wide grading policy is a year-long, cumulative average made up of 90% formative assessments (classwork, quizzes, tests, and projects) and 10% summative assessments (5% mid-term and 5% final exam). The formative assessments will be weighted according to the assignment, so for example a classwork grade may be weighted x1, a quiz may be weighted x3, and a test or project may be weighted x5. The weight will always be indicated in the name of the assignment. For example, “Unit 1 Test (x5)”. We will have seven unit tests throughout the year and we will have quizzes frequently on Fridays. Our goal is mastery of the standards.
Homework:
Homework is assigned at the beginning of the week and is due on Friday. Each assignment consists of 20 questions designed to both review content that has been previously taught as well as have the students practice current standards. All work must be shown and all problems must be attempted in order for students to get credit.
Organization:
-Students should have a Math Folder: graded papers and homework in the left pocket, classwork and warm-ups in the right pocket
-Students must have a Composition Book for their "Interactive Notebook" where they will take all of their notes
